Privacy
Everything runs in your browser: what you type or paste is processed by JavaScript on your device, not on a server. If you are signed out, nothing is saved at all. If you sign in with Google, your inputs and settings are saved privately to your account so they sync across devices.

How are words counted?
Anything separated by spaces or line breaks counts as one word, so “e-mail”, “don’t” and “2026” each count as a single word — the same rule most word processors use.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes an average silent reading speed of 238 words per minute; speaking time assumes 150 words per minute. Both are estimates.
Does the character count include spaces?
Both are shown — characters with spaces and characters without spaces — so you can match limits like meta descriptions or tweets.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Toolbench runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone — there is nothing to install.
