About the Instagram Grid Maker

The Instagram Grid Maker splits one image or video into equal tiles that line up into a single seamless picture on your Instagram profile. Pick a tile size — including 3:4, which matches how the profile grid now displays posts — choose 3 × 1 up to 6 × 6, drag to frame the shot, and download every tile numbered in posting order. Videos are cut into tiles that play in sync. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How to use the Instagram Grid Maker

  1. Choose a tile size: Profile grid (3:4), Square (1:1), Portrait (4:5) or Story (9:16).
  2. Pick a grid — 3 × 3 is the classic — or set columns and rows yourself.
  3. Choose or drop an image or video, then drag it, zoom, and pick Fill, Fit or Stretch.
  4. Click Cut, check the profile preview, and download the tiles one by one or as a ZIP.
  5. Post tile #1 first and the highest number last, so the full picture lands on your profile.

Privacy

Your image or video never leaves your device: it is read, cut and zipped by your browser, and everything is discarded when you close or reload the page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Instagram Grid Maker free?

Yes. Instagram Grid Maker is completely free with no sign-up, no usage limits and no watermarks.

Is my data private?

Your image or video never leaves your device: it is read, cut and zipped by your browser, and everything is discarded when you close or reload the page.

What order do I post Instagram grid tiles in?

Post #1 first and the highest number last. Your profile shows the newest post top-left, so the last tile you post becomes the top-left corner of the picture. The tool numbers every tile and its file name for you.

What size should Instagram grid images be?

The profile grid shows each post as a 3:4 rectangle, so 1080 × 1440 px tiles line up most cleanly. Square (1080 × 1080) and portrait (1080 × 1350) tiles also work, but the grid crops them to 3:4, which can break the seams.

Can I split a video into an Instagram grid?

Yes. Choose a video and the tool records one clip per tile in real time while the video plays, so all the tiles stay in sync. Files are MP4 or WebM depending on your browser; Chrome and Edge give MP4.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Cutting, zipping and previewing all happen in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved after you close the page.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Toolbench runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone — there is nothing to install.
